MSEDCL has recently warned consumers to pay off their outstanding dues or face power disconnection. As per information, the power company will not cut connections of the consumers immediately. At first the consumers will be sent a notice and asked to pay within 15 days. The power supply will be cut off after the period is over. Notices were sent to a large number of defaulters on Wednesday. Considering the pandemic, the energy minister had ceased the forcible collection of the dues from the defaulting consumers.
MSEDCL removed this ban on Wednesday. Notices were issued to consumers with the consumption of more than 20 KW.As per the source, the power bills worth Rs. 247.35 crore pending. MS will be sent to domestic consumers to their registered number. The arrears have to be paid within 15 days of receiving the SMS. Those who do not follow will be cut off. On the other hand, most of the defaulters stated that they did not pay the bill only due to the assurance of relief in the electricity bill by the state government.
