A proactive initiative indeed, as the government schools to reuse the textbooks of old students with good condition and will be given to students of the next academic session. This will reduce the demand of textbooks of education department. Also reduce the expenditure of the government in making textbooks.
As per information, the reuse of the books has been fixed to avoid the loss of environment for making textbooks. The state government spends more than Rs.250 crore every year on distribution of textbooks for free. Due to pandemic, classes from first to eight could not start yet. As per information, about 5.71 lakh textbooks were distributed in 1535 schools of Nagpur district in June 2020.
