Gondia: As the schools were shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools from students of Std 5th to Std 8th resumed recently in the Gondia district. Nearly 54% of parents gave a nod and sent their children to schools on the first day. Total 40,224 students out of 75,031 attended the classes on the very first day i.e. January 27.
In total there are 905 schools having classes between 5 and 8 with teachers’ strength of 3,762 and 715 non-teaching staff members.
District Education Officer (Primary), Rajkumar Hiware informed that that out of 905 schools, 887 have been sanitized while 874 schools have a thermal scanner and other health facilities.
As per the instructions, 3,563 teachers and 635 non-teaching staffers have undergone RTPCR tests and 15 of them were tested COVID 19 positive whereas 4,277 teaching and non-teaching staff resumed their duties.
Rajkumar Hiware himself visited a number of schools and ensured precautionary and safety measures in the schools. He instructed the schools to follow COVID 19 Guidelines strictly.
