Under the Pulse Polio Eradication campaign, 192387 children were administered polio doses in the city. As per information, around 69.59 % children were given doses. About 276473 children will be administered polio doses in the city.Asha workers will go door-to-door from February 2 to administer doses to children, who could not take this dose on Sunday. Polio eradication campaign started in city from Late Prabhakarrao Datke Disease Centre. Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari administered polio doses to children. Mayor said that no child should be deprived of the dose of polio.
It is necessary to give drops to every child up to five years of age. A total of 1529 booths were set up across 10 zones in the city. Booths were put up in all the dispensaries, voluntary organisations, private dispensaries, railway stations, bus stands, temples etc. The doses were administered with the help of mobile team at airport, construction sites and other roadside establishments. The NMC team will go door-to-door between February 2 and 6 to administer polio doses.
