Maharashtra Home Minister Anil M Deshmukh has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a tweet, Deshmukh said “Today my corona test result came positive and I am in good health. However, I urge everyone who came in contact with me recently to get tested against coronavirus. I will overcome corona soon and return to your service,” the Maharashtra home minister said in a tweet in Marathi”.
Anil Deshmukh is likely to be treated in Nagpur.
A state health official said Mr Deshmukh was on a tour of east Vidarbha over the last few days and returned to Nagpur on Thursday.
