Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) Ltd has issued notices to as many as 12 out of total 38 non-operational units in Multimodal International Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) area. Besides, it has issued notices to three other non-operational units in non-SEZ area. The non-operational units in MIHAN-SEZ area which MADC has issued notices to include Hexaware Technologies Ltd, Murodiya Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd, Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, Zeta Softech Pvt Ltd, Blue Planet Infosolutions (India) Pvt Ltd, Soni Polymers Pvt Ltd, Manmohan International Contracting, Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Nagpur Pvt Ltd, Asra Realty Venture Pvt Ltd, Ecoworld Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Building Research and Management Services Pvt Ltd, and DLF Ltd. The non-operational units in non-SEZ area that got notices are Duralloy India, GATI Ltd, RITES. Public Information Officer/Marketing Assistant of MADC has revealed this information in response to an application filed by activist Abhay Kolarkar under Right to Information (RTI) Act. The MADC officer informed Kolarkar that so far land has been sold to 77 companies in MIHANSEZ area, and to 42 companies in non-SEZ area.
MADC has received Rs 508.47 crore from MIHAN-SEZ and Rs 416.71 crore from non-SEZ area so far. In SEZ area, 17 companies have not paid full amount as against land acquisition to MADC, which is still waiting for Rs 175.44 crore from them. In non-SEZ area, six companies are yet to clear the payment of Rs 33.56 crore to MADC. According to MADC, L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Ltd has returned the land it had taken in SEZ area. On a brighter side, as many as 20 companies are operational in MIHAN-SEZ, and 12 outside SEZ. Prominent among the operational companies in SEZ area include Air India Ltd, HCL Technologies, Infosys Ltd, Lupin Ltd, Reliance Aerostructures Ltd, TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Reliance DRAL, and Reliance Thales. Further, according to MADC, 20 more companies have applied for land in MIHAN area. These include ANA International, S G Polymers and Packing, Verdin Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Ryder Shipping Lines Pvt Ltd, Rixido Industries, Dushine Industries, S K Road Carriers, Pravin Dunching and Diemaker, Vandana Packaging Works, Yashraj Enterprises, Kiran Infrastructure, Alkurn Technologies, JBW Foods and Beverages, Greentech Solution, Raghuwanshi Enterprises, Vidarbha Infra, Bansi Dairy Pvt Ltd, Spicewood Furnishers Pvt Ltd, KSD Technologies Pvt Ltd, and Kalpana Saroj Global Aviation Pvt Ltd. As far as land acquisition for MIHAN project is concerned, in MADC’s own admission, it has acquired total 2,961.345 hectares of land from 3,878 farmers. The compensation as against the acquisition of said land is Rs 479,15,16,604/-. The land acquisition awards for the said land.
