Earlier the civic authority of the city had decided to charge entry fee in 69 gardens of the city. However, it doesn’t go well with the public as they expressed their displeasure regarding this decision. After the resentment from the public the standing committee of the NMC has stayed the proposal and decided to give a new proposal. In the new proposal no fee will be discharged from the citizens. Standing committee chairman Vijay Zalke stated that a proposal came from the garden department to impose entry fee on select gardens of the city.
The standing committee had approved this but wrong assumption has created in the society over the proposal. People have started protesting it.Complaints have started reaching the public representatives. Thus the decision has been taken to relax the conditions. A fresh proposal has been sent to administration on behalf of standing committee. In the proposal it has been decided to hand over the gardens to voluntary and other organisations and not take any fee from the citizens. The gardens will be developed through CSR fund. Along with this, it has been also told to administration to include new alternatives.
