The Enforcement Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Tuesday conducted the anti –encroachment drive in which the eateries in Ramdaspeth faced heat. As the NMC squad demolished the sheds of eateries. The sheds of Ganesh Bhojanalaya, Hariom Bhojanalaya, and Shankar Bhojnalaya were demolished under Laxminagar zone. After this, 28 encroachments were removed from footpath from Khamla Chowk to Chatrapati Square, Wardha Road, Somalwada Square and truck –load items were seized. Total 262 encroachments were removed and 5 truck-loaded items were seized during the action in various zones of the city. Apart from this, a fine of 20,700 was imposed the encroachers. Two carts were seized from the footpath of Ramdaspeth in Dharampeth Zone. Small clothing shops on Sitabuldi main Road.
Scrap shops were Bhole petrol pump square to Law College square, Ravi Nagar Square, University Campus were also removed. During the action 11 sheds were demolished. Along with 31 encroachments, a truck loaded items were seized and a fine of Rs.14500 was recovered. Besides this, 57 encroachments were removed from footpath under the Hanuman Nagar Zone from Tukdoji Putla Square to Krida Square, Reshimbagh Square, Sakkardara Square, Chhota Tajbagh from Tukdoji Putla to New Subhedar Layout, Mhalagi Nagar Square. A truck loaded items seized and fine of Rs.6200 was recovered.
