IIM Nagpur has completed the Summer Placements process for the seventh batch of its flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management, a two-year full-time residential programme that aims to prepare managers and future leaders. With almost a doubled intake of 212 students this year, IIM Nagpur once again achieved 100% placement by February 13, 2021.
This year, more than 100 recruiters across various sectors like FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), Consumer Durables, Ed-Tech, E-Commerce, Analytics, Consulting, BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance), Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Real Estate participated in the process. The year 2021 also witnessed participation from many first-time recruiters making double-digit offers to the students. Several organizations have recruited the students for their premier internship program.
The list of prominent recruiters includes Microsoft, BNY Mellon, Doha Bank, Nivia Sports, Dalmia Bharat, United Breweries, V-Guard, Philips Carbon Black, SIDBI, Hindustan Petroleum, YourStory, L&T Infotech, who recruited in substantial numbers. The average stipend in this season stood at 60,953 & the highest at 2,50,000 which are higher by 12.7% and 108% respectively as compared to the last summer placement season.
The current batch comes with an average work experience of 30 months, and consists of a pool of students with educational backgrounds varying from Commerce, Engineering, and Science. BFSI & Ed-Tech emerged as the most sought-after sectors, followed by FMCG/D and Manufacturing, with more than 50 percent of the batch opting for a summer internship in these industries. The current year also witnessed participation from Consulting, Health & Pharma, E-Commerce, Media & Entertainment with more than 20 percent of the batch choosing profiles in these sectors.
Marketing and Consulting were the most sought-after profiles by the students. Apart from these, roles in Analytics, Finance, and Operations were offered to the students. IIM Nagpur has once again distinguished itself as an institution of excellence, by surmounting challenges like the global pandemic and an increased batch size. Our emphasis on strong industry connectedness – a constant, healthy engagement with the industry is a key differentiator.
