As the number of Covid cases in the state are increasing, around half-a-dozen of top Maharashtra leaders have tested positive for Coivd-19 infection in the last couple of days. Some leaders even got infected for the second time.
Several leaders including state NCP President and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Food and Drug Administration Minister, Dr Rajendra Singh, Minister of State Labour and Prahar Janshakti founder Bacchu Kadu, senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse and his daughter in law who is a BJP MP, Raksha Khadse. While others got infected for the first time, Bacchu Kadu and Eknath Khadse tested positive for the second time.
While many leaders tested positive this week, some leaders have also been in isolation and treatment as they tested positive earlier. The State Congress President and former speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Nana Patole is in self-isolation after two of his staff members tested positive for the infection. On the other hand, State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is in home quarantine in Nagpur after recovering from covid-19.
