The Nagpur Division of South East Central Railway has planned to run passenger and MEMU trains from Monday. The monthly pass holders of railway have also raised demand to allow travel in special trains. Due to lockdown, the railways stopped the services from March 22, 2020.Later, passenger trains were started. But only special are operational except regular trains. The passengers having confirmed tickets only are allowed in these trains. The monthly pass holders who up and down in trains over the years are not allowed to travel in these trains.
There were thousands of passengers doing up/down from Nagpur to Bhandara, Gondia, Wardha, Amravati and up to Akola before Covid-19 pandemic period. The number of government and private employees, workers, students, traders, milk sellers and farm produce. And due to the corona crisis. These passengers are travelling in private transport service. But now it has been decided to run passenger train between Itwari and Chhindwara and MEMU train between Itwari and Gondia.And the monthly pass holders should be permitted to travel and additional bogie should be provided if required.
