The sudden spurt in COVID-19 cases has thrown normal life out of gear in Vidarbha district. Taking cognisance of the matter, three districts in Maharashtra have already been ordered to follow strict social distancing norms during the coming weekend.
On February 22, the district reported more than 700 cases third day. With getting 710 people positive for the virus in the day the total number reached 143843. Today 8 people succumbed to the virus-borne disease taking the tally of deaths to 4283.
As per the official report, out of the total positive cases, 67 were from rural areas and 641 from Nagpur city alone. Meanwhile, from the total deaths, 4 were reported from Nagpur city and 2 each from outside the district and the rural areas.
After the fresh updates, the total active cases in the city now stand at 6262 including asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation.
With 437 recoveries in the day, the cumulative number of recovered cases rose to 133298 (including 72633 home isolation recoveries). The recovery rate recorded today was 92.67% percent.
Today’s 710 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.
