CAIT on Sunday stated that it would launch a nation-wide agitation against issues related to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and alleged malpractices of foreign e-commerce firms. As per information, the campaign will begin from March 5 and continue till April 5 against the GST amendments and malpractices of foreign e-commerce companies.
The trader’s body said both these issues are directly related to the eight crore traders of the country and till the logical resolution of these two issues is achieved, the movement will continue throughout the country. It is important to note that CAIT is planning to come out with an Indian ecommerce portal to promote Indian goods and local traders. It is also striving to bring glory of Indian traders in main stream of economy and nation and to create a business friendly environment in the country beside upgrading and modernising existing format of retail trade and development of skills of the traders in India.
