As part of contact tracing, civic authority has stepped up holding of testing camps in various parts of city. As per information, the areas that are witnessing maximum spike in COVID-19 cases are being prioritised for mass testing so that community spread is avoided. These camps were organised in all the ten zones coming under the NMC. At Laxmi Nagar Zone, a camp was held at Orbital Township, in Dharampeth zone at Krishnam Nagar, under Hanuman Nagar Zone at Shankar Nagar, under Dhantoli Zone at Godrej Anandam City and at Beltarodi Police Station, in Nehru Nagar Zone no. 5 under Nirmal Nagari, at Gandhibagh Zone at Ganeshpeth Police Station, in Satranjipura Zone at Shanti Nagar Police Station, in Lakadganj Zone at Surya Nagar, at Gandhibagh and Pardi, at Asinagar Zone at Jaripatka, Kapil Nagar, Koradi police station and at Palloti Nagar.
Samples from staff at police stations were collected as they are prone to infections owing to large number of visitors and their interaction with them. For all these camps, the Zonal Health Officer of the NMC, Dr Bhoyar, Dr Bhivagade, Dr Shubham Mangate, Dr Sagar Naidu, Manali Kayarkar, Romal Shende, Shivani Pandav, Arshia Qureshi, PI Trupti Sonawane of Jaripatka Police Station and others took efforts for organising the camps.
