Due to the rapid increase in Covid-19 positive cases in city, the district administration has decided to re-start the Covid Care Centre (CCC) at the MLA Hostel at Civil Lines. The decision to re-start the centre at MLA Hostel issued on March 11 during meeting in the presence of guardian minister Dr.Nitin Raut. However, the district and civic administration delayed the process .The district collector Ravindra Thakare in the order stated that he had received the order to commence the CCC through phone.
Hence, the CCC centre will be started in wing no.2 and 3 of the MLA Hostel. However, the biggest challenge before the administration will be to arrange workforce needed for operating the CCC.As due to the lack of workforce, the decision to start the CCC was delayed. As per the information, the Pachpaoli Covid Care Centre has a capacity to accommodate 240 patients. Now,around 70 percent of beds are occupied in this centre. The centre is facing workforce crisis as there are only 10 staff working at the centre.
