Disposing hazardous bio-medical waste along with normal garbage without taking adequate precautions, NMC’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) fined Ramdaspeth based Advance Path Lab and Shantiprabha Nursing Home. The action was taken under Laxminagar zone, and a fine of Rs.20000 was imposed on Advance Path Lab and Rs.10000 on Shantiprabha.There is a rule that biomedical waste cannot be thrown into ordinary waste in open space.NDS investigated a total of 61 establishments on Friday.
Out of this, a total of 25 establishments, offices along with the Advance Path Lab and Shantiprabha Nursing Home were fined Rs.1.80 lakh. Three in Laxminagar, five in Dharampeth zone, three in Dhantoli zone, one in Nehru Nagar, three in Gandhibagh, four in Satranjipura zone, one in Lakaadganj zone, two in Aasinagar zone, three in Mangalwari zone, violating Covid rule.
