As the district struggles with an explosion of novel coronavirus cases, the city’s situation became grimmer as on Monday the district witnnesed 40 deaths, which is highest in last six months. Nagpur witnessed 21 deaths while 15 fatality cases were from rural area. The growing number of death and positive cases have disturbed the administration as Holi festival is inching closer.
The district on Monday recorded 3596 fresh cases taking the caseload to 196676, while the death toll has risen to 4664, an official release said.
The total active cases in the district now stands at 31067.
As many as 1847 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total of recoveries to 160954 including 87221 home recoveries. The recovery rate recorded today was 81.83 percent.
Today’s 3596 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.
