The sharp rise of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the Second Capital of the State witnessed a slight drop on Tuesday as Nagpur district reported 3,095 fresh cases. Also providing some relief today, the district registered more than 2k recoveries in a single day which is double of yesterday’s count.
Today the district registered 33 deaths due to the global pandemic. In the day, total 2136 persons successfully recovered from the infection.
From the total positive cases today, 2272 were reported from the city while 819 were reported from rural area. After today update, the total count of active cases now stands at 31993. The recovery rate improves to 81.63 percent.
With the latest update the total of positive cases have surged to 199771 while the number of deaths have reached 4,697. A sum of 16,3081 persons have been successfully treated with the Coronavirus in the district.
It is pertinent to mention that amid an alarming spike in COVID-19 cases in the city, the District Administration has decided to extend lockdown in Nagpur which will remain in effect till March 31.
