After it was found that a woman was selling tobacco and cigarettes to passerby in Sadar during the lockdown period, she was detained on Thursday night. A case has been registered under section 188,269 and 270 against her at Sadar police station.
As per information, the woman has often been spotted with a two-wheeler near NIT Chowk, Liberty Chowk, VCA Road, and Mount Road. She used to stop two wheeler riders and sell tobacco to them. Some people showed interest to buy tobacco from her, some used to drive away suspecting untoward incidents late at night with a lonely woman. Those who recognized her would buy tobacco and cigarettes at high rates. Youngsters started gathering in search of her regularly.However, after all these incidents reported, the woman was detained.
