World health day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year in April 7, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization, as well as other related organizations to remind us of the importance of Health in one’s life. Every year the World Health Organization (WHO) under the patronage of the United Nations (UN) declares a there for the year. This year the theme for world health day 2021 is Building a fairer, healthier world.
Staying healthy is an everyday task rather than a one-day job. Daily routine for health is a simple yet effective way to build consistency when it comes to your health. Not only does your daily routine impact your overall health, but it has a direct impact on your stress levels, sleep habits, and eating patterns. Everything from what you do first thing in the morning to what you do last at night plays a role in your overall health. In order to help you all with this, these are the things you must do to stay healthy throughout the year;
1. Be an Early Riser
Waking up early gives you a head start on your day. Early risers are often thought of as energetic problem-solvers leading businesses, organizations, or sometimes even nations.
2. Drink a lot of Water
Staying hydrated is vital for our health and although we’ve heard it many times, it’s often overlooked. Our bodies are 60% water and not drinking enough water can lead to more than just dehydration. In fact, low levels of dehydration are linked to fatigue, headaches, and increased cravings.
3. Exercise at least 4 times a week
The benefits of a regular exercise routine extend far beyond meeting weight-loss goals. Regular exercise can help prevent disease as well as contribute to emotional wellness because of the feel-good chemicals released during and after physical activity. To stay healthy you must exercise at least 4 times a week.
4. Get at least 7 hours of sleep every day
Getting enough sleep every night can improve immune function, memory, cognition, and mood. While the benefits of a good night’s sleep are numerous, many people sacrifice sleep when negotiating a busy schedule. Healthy people need to make sleep a top priority in their lives.
5. Eat a balanced diet
We live in a dieting-centric society, and while fad diets may be popular, making an effort to simply eat well every day will yield better long-term results for most people. Your diet must contain 40-60 percent carbohydrates, 10-30 percent protein, and 10-30 percent fat.
6. Stay Happy
Even if you’re getting 8 hours of sleep a night, your other 16 waking hours shouldn’t be dedicated solely to work commitments, exercise, and eating well. Self-care is necessary for living a healthy and balanced lifestyle, so it’s important to take time out of your day to do activities that bring you joy and help you de-stress.
Creating a health routine considering all these steps can do wonders for you as you will see brilliant results for your mental, physical and emotional health.
