The district administration has set-up a 24×7 call centre at district collectorate to facilitate the flow of information for the needy patients and their relatives from rural areas as well as the city due to rampant surge in COVID cases.
Citizens can call on 0712 2562668 and 1077 (toll free) to get information about the availability of beds in government as well as private hospitals, ICU beds, oxygen availability and all other information related to COVID-19.
People can call 24×7 on the numbers and it will be answered. District collector Ravindra Thakare has appealed to the people to reach out to private or government hospitals, before it is too late to avoid loss of life.
Meanwhile, the patients who are in home isolation in rural areas should immediately start with medication without wasting time.
The Asha and Anganwadi workers in villages are providing health services to patients. According to the medical experts, six minutes brisk walk test can be done immediately.
Under the test, if there is a difference of more than 4 units in the oxygen levels before walk and after walk, then it is a serious matter and if the person is suffering from cough, cold, fever, s/he should be immediately consult a doctor.
Also, there is no shortfall of oxygen in the city and it is available as per demand. Apart from the manufacturers from city, and Bhilia Steel Plant is also supplying oxygen, Thakare assured.
He also informed that now the sale of Remdesivir from pharmacies have been banned and the stockists and suppliers will only make it available to hospitals directly and to the pharmacies attached to the hospitals.
The FDA team is looking into RT-PCR tests taking place in private laboratories of the hospitals and the testing and uploading of reports are also being taken care of by FDA. Thakare also appealed to people to follow all the Covid protocols and ‘Break the Chain’ and use face masks and sanitisers.
