The COVID-19 pandemic has disturbed the complete education system in the year 2020 and continues to do it this year as well. Meanwhile, HSSC and SSC students who were worried about their results can take a sigh of relief as the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has decided to give these students a certificate as proof of participating in the exam while instead of mentioning fail on the certificate, it will be mentioned that the concerned student appeared for exam but could not clear.
Large number of private students appears for SSC and HSSC exams of education board every year. These are the students who leave studies due to various reasons. The education board has prepared one rule for these students and after fulfilling conditions given in rule, these students will have to fill up Form No. 17 and directly appear for SSC and HSSC examinations. The students passing the exams are given certificates from the board school.
However, the schools were facing difficulties in giving certificates to students who fail thus the schools and junior colleges were not giving any kind of certificate to the students who failed. Looking at this, a proposal was sent to the exam committee of education board recently and it was demanded to make policy clear. It was also asked that what should be mentioned on certificate if any student fails.
The exam committee accepted the proposal. The committee took decision that the student failing in SSC and HSSC exams will be given certificates instead of mentioning fail on certificates, it will be written that the student could not pass the exam. The objective of education board behind this is that there is should be no ill feeling in minds of students.
