Four dead, several injured in a massive fire erupted at Well Treat hospital in Wadi, Amravti road Nagpur on Friday late evening.
According to the primary information the fire reportedly started from AC unit of ICU at second floor. This private hospital was currently treating the COVID-19 patients. Around 27 patients were shifted to other hospital due to safety precautions.
On recieving the information, one fire tender from wadi fire station, one fire tender from MIDC fire brigade, three fire tenders from Nagpur Municipal Corporation Fire and emergency services dept and one Turntable ladder Responded to the call.
Meanwhile, many other patients were safely evacuated by fire personnel along with police and staff of the hospital.
Chief fire officer ,Nagpur Municipal Corporation Rajendra Uchake Station officer Tushar Barahate, Fireman sharad dandekar, Rupesh manke,Shalik kothe, Shembekar Driver sunil Dongre participated in rescue operation.
Fire officer of Wadi Nagar parishad Rohit Shelare along with his team were first to reach the spot.
Fire was confined to second floor only .
Staff of hospital tried to put out the fire with the help of fire extinguisher but could not succeed.
Fire fighting and rescue operation was completed by 21.30 hrs, sources informed.
