On the occasion of the birth anniversary of a great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has initiated a cleaning campaign of Nag river, Peeli river, and Pohra river on Sunday. The campaign has been carried out in a very simple manner, following all the COVID-19 guidelines.
The sanitization programme was launched under the able leadership of Mayor ​​Dayashankar Tiwari. Public participation is also welcomed for the campaign.
A team of sanitation workers is set up to clean these rivers. The Nag River Sanitation Campaign between Ashok Chowk and St. Xavier’s School was started from Ashok Chowk today.
Apart from the river cleaning campaign, plants will be planted on the banks of all three rivers this year. The plantation drive will start from Pohra river in the first week of June. Fruit and medicinal plants will be planted under this campaign.
