Aimd the rapid surge and countless appeals made by the administration Nagpurians are aiming to become a foe in the eyes of the Nation.
To curb the spread of virus Nagpur Municipal Corporation issued new time slots for essential services to be functional in city from April 20 to April 30.
According to the timing essential service had to pile up all their work from 7 am to 11 am but this seems inconvenient for people. Trade activities are going from locked shops in city on the day one itself.
On Tuesday at 1.30 pm at Bishikar Mohalla, in front of Wholesale cloth market, when Nuisance Detection Squade (NDS) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) raided the shop they found that four persons were standing in front of the shop, and entertaining customers. NDS when forced them to open the lock of the shop, four customers came out of the closed shop.
Many of the traders of non-essential commodities were also involved in trading, inside a locked shop or supplying from inside making the customer stand in front of the shop. Similar activity was going at a plastic material shop in the same area. NDC warned the shopkeeper and did not penalize him.
It seems that the law of stress and strain, applies to human being also, if you stretch a thing more than its resistance capacity, it breaks. Similar situation is going on in the market. Since traders who are following the rules and guidelines are losing business, while those who are daring to break the rules are earning handsomely. Even customers are taking risk and not following the guidelines, is surprising. Though on one side Nagpur distt reported all-time high 113 deaths, 6364 new cases, and active case cross 70k, but it seems that people are fed-up with the lockdown.
After the second incidence, it’s clear that trading is going inside the closed shops, and few are caught. Even the fear of breaking the Law is going out of the mind of few.
The administration must permit all (essential and non-essential) shops to be opened from 9 am to 4 pm, is the demand of traders. If the administration does not rectify its order more such incidence will be seen in the coming days, echoed traders.
