A 4-year-old tigress was found dead in Mukutban range in Pandharkawda forest area Yavatmal, Maharashtra. A wire rope was stuck around her neck & it was hit with a sharp stone and two front paws were chopped off.
“The tigress was found dead near a nullah (drain) in the forest. The carcass had injuries caused by a sharp weapon. An iron wire was found around the feline’s neck†informed Deputy Conservator of Forest Raju Bansod. The autopsy was conducted on Sunday and its report is awaited.
