The district collector on Monday allowed other permit holders wine shops and country liquor sellers to sell liquor on home delivery basis while following rules. As per information, the liquor sellers will sell liquor primarily to permit holder consumers only. After this order, along with beer bars, the country liquor and IMFL from wine shops will be allowed to sell on home delivery basis only. But home delivery can be done upto 8 pm at night. From the last few days, only permit rooms were allowed to sell liquor on MRP on home delivery basis only. But some owners of permit rooms were selling liquor at more than permit room rates.
After this, cases of departmental inquiry have been lodged against some permit room directors. But wine shops and country liquor shops were not allowed to sell the liquor. The liquor sellers will have the responsibility to give temporary permits while selling liquor to those consumers who don’t have a permit to purchase liquor. These sellers will have to appoint delivery boys for home delivery as per the requirement. But their number will not be more than 10.The delivery boys will have to carry identity cards issued by the state excise department. The liquor seller will have to maintain information about home delivery sale in one register. Strict action will be taken if liquor is sold to the consumer at more price, queue in shop and sale of liquor beyond permissible time.
