Maharashtra State Council of examination has postponed the pre upper primary scholarship (Class 5) and pre-secondary scholarship examination (Class 8) 2021 till further notice.
The pre- upper primary scholarship and pre-secondary scholarship examination for 2021 were scheduled to be held on May 23 but was postponed citing the current coronavirus pandemic situation in the state as per the official statement by the Maharashtra State Council of examination.
Maharashtra’s Minister of Education, Varsha Gaikwad announced the decision through the Twitter “Given the prevailing coronavirus pandemic Maharashtra state Council of examination spree upper primary scholarship for class 5 and pre-secondary scholarship for class 8 examinations scheduled to be held on May 23, 2021, has been postponed till further notice.
The minister of education Varsha Gaikwad further says, “across the state 47612 schools have registered for the exams while a total of 6324078 students have applied for the said examination. Also, 3,88,335 class V and 2,44,143 Class 8 students have applied for the exams. The Health and safety of our students are of utmost importance to usâ€.
As many exams in the state are either deferred or cancelled citing the COVID situation this will decision will also come as a welcome move for parents.
