It is really good news as the first lot of 17,000 Remdesivir injections rolled out of Wardha plant on Thursday. The stock manufactured at Genetek Life Sciences facility in Wardha was handed over to stockist, for distribution in Nagpur and other parts of Maharashtra through the District Collector. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and MSMEs, joined the handing over ceremony through online mode.
As per the information, Union Minister spoke to Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister; and Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra Health Minister. Gadkari informed them about the first lot rolling out of the Wardha plant. The plant at Wardha got permissions to manufacture Remdesivir injections, at the initiative of Gadkari. So far, the plant has produced one lakh vials of the injection that is being widely used on COVID-19 patients. After meeting requirement of Nagpur and Maharashtra, the vials manufactured at Wardha will be supplied across the country.
