In the wake of rising Mucormycosis (black fungus) cass, Guardian Minister Nitin Gadkari has asked the district administration as well as health workers need to be more vigilant while treating corona patients, as mucormycosis has come up while people are still fighting with coronavirus.
A review meeting was held at the divisional commissioner’s office on Saturday regarding the pandemic.
During the meeting Raut took a detailed review of the total number of patients with mucormycosis and the treatment being given to them.
Asha workers and Anganwadi workers should be tasked to create awareness among the people about the disease, especially in rural areas.
Can Mahatma Phule Janaarogya Yojana be used to treat patients with mucormycosis?
The disrict administration should look into these patients, as they need immediate surgery. The amount can be utilised through this scheme, which will make it easier to treat patients. Even private doctors need to come forward to treat these patients. For this, the consent of the relatives of the patients should be obtained before the surgery and these patients should be treated immediately.
Awareness about the symptoms of this disease should be spread through placing banners at important locations, so that people in the rural area are aware about the disease.
