Extorting money from corona patient is still on in city. Vinita Shahu, DCP Zone 2, recieved an information that an injection of Tocilizumab used for the treatment of COVID patient is being sold at Rs 1 lakh in the market. With her writer K D Dhurat, PSI and team reached Ravi Nagar Square on May 25, at 4 pm.
Acting swiftly on the tip off the team roped a suspect sitting on two wheeler, infront of Ravi Medical, at Ravi Nagar Square, towards Law College. On checking the person, the team recovered 2 injections of 400mg and 200 ml of Tocilizumab of Actemra Company, batch no B4015 of MRP Rs 40,600 and two mobile phone.
The person was identified as Sachin Ashok Gavrikar, age 20, resident of Mohagaon of Balaghat district.
On further investigation he informed that two more people Visesh alis Sonu Jaiswal age 26 years, resident of village Paraswada, tehsil Kirnapur, Balaghat District and other Ramfal Lolar Vaishya, age 22 year and resident of village Tarkatel of Singroli district both BHMS doctors by profession.
Police sized one Samsung mobile, injections Tocilizumab of Actemra company and Pulser bike. The total material siezed worth Rs 1,65,600.
A case of illegal storage and marketing Tocilizumab injection, without any proper documentation and selling it at an exorbitant price was registered at Ravi Nagar, Police Station and crime under IPC 420, 188, 34 and 26 was registered.
Ramdas Nerkar, Ashish Wankhede, Santosh Shendre, all police constables from city police assisted in the operation.
