To support the family of noted chess coach Umesh Panbude who passed away recently due to Covid, Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) will be organising a weekend series comprising four weeks of blitz tournaments.
The first batch of the tournament will be held today online on the eve of Panbude’s birthday.
The event, to be held on lichess.org starting at 6.00 pm, will have all time control of five minutes. It will consist of maximum 11 rounds.
The total prize fund for the event is Rs 20000. Apart from open event, prizes will also be for veterans (60+), females, Under-13 and Under11 players.
Full amount collected through entry fees will go to Panbude family Lichess User ID is manda tory to play this event.
During tournament arbiters may ask any player to play on video call/zoom call. If he/she fails to play on video call then the player will be dis qualified from tourna ment, informs a press note.
