The physical hearing of cases filed in district and sessions court and other junior courts will be held online from Tuesday. The principal district and sessions judge Sanjay Mehre issued a circular in this regard on Monday. Due to increasing coronavirus infection, a decision to hold online hearing only in cases filed in district and sessions court and other junior courts up to June 4 was taken some days ago.
But the online hearing also posed various difficulties for the administration, including lawyers. Therefore; the advocates had demanded that both online and physical options be made available for hearing.
As per the new circular lawyers who are unable to attend the online hearing from tomorrow will be able to go to court and attend the actual hearing. However, the parties have been barred from entering the court premises. In addition, the facility of filing and dropbox via e-mail has been discontinued. Emergency cases can now be filed only through e-filing or directly to the concerned department from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
