A veterinary doctor was attacked by a tigress when the team of State forest department was on a field trip near a village in the buffer zone of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) on Thursday.
The incident took place near Doni village in Mul tehsil of Chandrapur. The animal was seen sitting in the area, without making any movement for two days. The veterinarian was admitted to a hospital in Chandrapur where he is undergoing treatment for leg injuries and is out of danger, said the forest department.
Veterinarian Ravikant Khobragade was in the team that was following the tigress, which jumped onto them during which Khobragade lost his balance and fell and the tigress caught hold of his feet, however, the forest team intervened and rescued him making a lot of noise. The tigress ran into the bushes.
