The railway administration has planned to extend the Gondia-Kolhapur Maharashtra train which is allotted to Vidarbha till Rewa, Madhya Pradesh (MP).
Now due to the extension the quota of passengers in Vidarbha especialy between Nagpur, Gondia and Wardha will be reduced and its impact will be felt by those who travel regularly. Therefore, there is a demand from passengers for cancellation of the plan by railways.
Trains are extended from Nagpur. But outside trains are not being extended to Nagpur. The Janshatabdi Express which runs till Durg, needs to be extended till Itwari. Similarly, the Amravati-Jabalpur Express should be run via Gondia and the Nagpur-Bilaspur Inter City Express should have two-coach chair coaches and there is a need of direct train from Nagpur to Kolkata and Delhi. But instead of increasing the number of trains from Nagpur, the railway administration is trying to snatch trains from Vidarbha.
