A delegation of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) led by its vice presi dent Hemant Trivedi recently called on collector Ravindra Thakare and municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B and urged them organise a special vaccination drive for 12th Board students on priority.
Hemant Trivedi said, although the government had decided that the final examination of 12th Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and State boards will not be held this year considering Covid pandemic; yet the colleges have asked students to appear for practical and viva starting soon.
Under such circum stances, it is necessary that students appearing for CBSE exams are vaccinat ed for at least first dose so that they are protected and further transmission of Covid does not occur, he informed.
Secretary of VTA Tejinder Singh Renu, said since administration is gearing up for special vac cination drives for stu dents going abroad for studies, the 12th standard students appearing for practical and viva may also get vaccinated.
Both Ravindra Thakare and Radhakrishnan B assured the delegates to forward their request to government of Maharashtra for consider ation.
Also present in the VTA delegation were joint sec retaries Amarjeet Singh Chawla and Rajesh Kanungo.
