With no sign of the leopard which was on a run since it was sighted in Gayatri Nagar in Nagpur, IT Park on May 28 the forest department reached a conclusion that the leopard must have gone back to the Ambazari Biodiversity Park.
Nevertheless, the forest department is in search of Leopard in the city. The Forest Department has appealed to call the Toll Free Number 1926 or the Wildlife Rescue Force (TTC) Office 0712-2515306. The forest officials also request to take a picture or video of the same for the forest official while maintaining a safe distance.
On May 28 the leopard was first sighted at Gayatri Nagar in Nagpur, IT Park however The Forest department was unable to find the wild cat. While on June 2 a Pig was found dead near Maharajbagh and it was believed to be attacked by the leopard. However, no clear sign of leopard roaming, no pugmarks were found in all these places.
For this, the Forest Department had also set up 24 camera traps and patrol squads in Ambazari Biodiversity Park and have been searching the entire area of the Biodiversity Park for the last 7 days. On June 6 the leopard was spotted in the camera near the filter gate area of Ambazari Biodiversity Park.
