Now getting in long queues for learning license gets more easy. With the new ‘Faceless’ system introduced by the Central government, people will now be able to get their learning licences right at their homes with just a click.
The applicants will get a printout of the learning licence after entering their Aadhaar number on the RTO website and securing 60% or more in th online test.
It is worth mentioning here in order to reduce the time consuming process of license, the RTO has introduced online appointment system. But that too proved to be too much time consuming for the people, as the computer test and other formalities took lot of time.
As a result, many seek help from the online service of brokers carrying laptops inside and outside the RTO office. About 2500 to 1,000 were being charged for this service.
Since most of the brokers were in direct contact with the office staff, even a stranded applicant was being shown the way to the brokers.
But now that the Central government has launched a ‘faceless’ service with the help of Aadhaar numbers, it will be of great benefit.
How to apply
The National Information Center has made necessary changes in the – Vehicle and Charioteer 4.0 = system to provide the Licence’.
For this, the applicant has to go to the website ‘www.parivahan.gov.in’, select the operation ‘Sarathi’, enter the Aadhaar card number in it and fill in the required information.
This will be followed by a road safety video. If you answer 60% of the questions correctly, you will get a print out of the learning licence. In addittion, the facility to fill up the Form 1 (a) Medical Certificate online through a doctor has also been made available.
For applicants who do not have Aadhar cards
Alternative procedure Applicants who do not have Aadhaar card or do not want to avail this service will be able to take the test for learning licence in the office by applying online, uploading documents, paying fees and booking slots from the transport website as before.
Vehicle inspection by inspectors not required at time of first registration
As per the notification of the Central Government, for the first registration of new vehicles in the non transport category, vehicle inspection by motor vehicle inspectors will no longer be required.
Also, the registration number will be issued automatically after the vehicle seller pays the fee and tax.
The documents of the vehicles sold by the distributors will have to be sent to the RTO office with the help of digital signature. This will reduce office congestion and save time.
