Nagpur Private School Parents Association in a press conference informed that the Education Department and private school management are having a cordial relationship and hence despite several complaints and follow-up no action is taken against them.
“Even the police department is not taking serious action on the FIR lodge against the school,†alleged Ajay Chalkhure, one of the parents. He added that from last one and half year, parents are worried and upset in city. “We need support of leaders to solve our problem but all are turning their back, as all leaders are having involvement in the school management directly or indirectly. Only Bacchu Kadu, Maharashtra Minister of State for School Education is standing by our side and is taking serious concern about our complaints,†Chalhure said.
They demanded that the Chief Minister and Education Minister must implement the directions of the Supreme Court, issued in its judgement 1724/2021 on May 3, 2021. It demanded to reschedule the tuition fee for the new academic session 2021-2022 and the previous pandemic period 2020-2021. Until this is done, no parent will pay any fees in the school.
Amit Hosingh, another parent added that the schools were not following any guidelines of the CBSE Board affiliation, nor the Maharashtra State rule regarding fees structure. He said, “There are 8 schools against whom recovery of money has been ordered. But still these school are demanding fees from the parents.â€
He added that Maharashtra Government itself has decreased the fees for RTE students by 50 per cent, from Rs 17670 to Rs 8000, why the other students are asked to pay the full fees? he questioned. He said, “The result of the students have been withheld and their online classes has been stopped. It is a crime by the school management.†He also warned that if proper action is not taken on the schools, parents will be compelled to make the agitation more severe.
