Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has decided to return about Rs 1.18 crore to the industries based in Butibori Industrial Estate.
The Butibori Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) was working towards this end since MIDC had increased Environment Protection Service Charge (EPSC) with retrospective effect. This charge would be paid back to the industries.
President of BMA, Pradeep Khandelwal and secretary Nitin Lonkar said EPSC charge is recovered from orange and red category indus tries of industrial area.
As per the order issued by MIDC on December 11, 2019, the EPSC charges were increased from 20.10 per month to 1.10 per square metre. This charge was to be augment ed by 10 percent every year which had caused heavy financial burden on industries which were already reeling under the after-effects of lockdown.
BMA had also opposed the hike in EPSC charge with the effect that MIDC has now decided to return this charge with retro spective effect to the industries concerned.
