Despite rainy shower, thousands of members of the Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh gathered at Savidhan Square demanding 27% reservation in political, educational, and in jobs to OBC. All wearing yellow Gandhi cap and dupatta of OBC Mahasangh embossed on it.
Office bearers along with Dr Babanrao Taywade, National President of OBC Mahasangh, met Ravindra Thakre, District Collector and submitted the memorandum to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.
Dr Taywade said that “our major demands are that the Counting of census of OBC must be done according to the cast. After the judgement given by the Supreme Court on March 4, against the political reservation of the OBC. The Union Government must amend Section 243 D and T and must give complete reservation to the OBC community of 27 per cent. Dissolve the V P Sharma Committee formed to increase the limit of the crime layer of OBC. Increase the limit of non crime layer to 15 lakh, which is pending from last four years.
OBC candidates in Government services must also get reservation in promotion. Give complete 27 per cent reservation to OBC students in Medical seats and PG seats. Fill the backlog of seats in Government services. Collector Ravindra Thakre, accepted the memorandum and assured that it will be forwarded to the PMO office. Similar memorandum was also submitted for Chief Minister.
