“The ICCR is ready to collaborate with Kalidas Sanskrit University to spread the ancient knowledge of Sanskrit language internationally. Kalidas Sanskrit University should encourage foreign students to study Yoga, Ayurveda, various sciences and to encourage KKSU’s faculty members to teach Sanskrit in foreign universities through MoUs with various foreign universities, besides organizing international conferences with foreign universities†, said Prashant Pise, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs(MEA) and Deputy Director General, Council for Indian Cultural Relations(ICCR), New Delhi.
Pise said that for post-doctoral fellowships, the Council of Indian Cultural Relations is ready to co-operate with Sanskrit University in all these matters also encourage KKSU’s faculty members to act as a guide for foreign students.
Pise along with the Heads of various departments, Professor, Administrative Officers and Deans of the University conducted a special dialogue session. He informed that the Indian Council for Cultural Relations works to promote India and ancient culture, art, way of life, food culture, dress, various festivals and daily culture at international level, including promotion and learning of Sanskrit, Hindi and other Indian languages. The council has also created a ‘Little Guru’ app for learning Sanskrit.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi welcomed Pise by offering Shawl, Shriphal and Books. Head of the Department of Sanskrit Language and Literature, Prof Kavita Holey gave information about the establishment and progress of university. On this occasion, University Deans, Heads, Professors, faculty members and Administrative Officers were present.
