Amid shortage of COVID vaccines in the district, Nagpur district is all set to resume Covishield vaccination after it recieved vaccine consignment from the state goverment. Citizens above 18 years of age can recieve vaccination on Saturday at 140 centers run by Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Covishield vaccine for free.
The COVID vaccination will be given from 11 am to 4 pm. Registration can be done both online and offline.
At present Covishield vaccine is available at 140 centers including Nagpur Municipal Corporation and other government centers and Covaxin vaccine at three centers.
Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi informed that all the citizens above 18 years of age will be vaccinated at 140 centers where covishield vaccine is available.
First and second dose of covaxin for citizens above 45 years of age will be available at Government Medical College (Medical College), Barrister Rajabhau Khobragade Hall, Siddharth Nagar, Behind Ashinagar Zone (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital) and Late Prabhakar Datke at Municipal Diagnosis Center, Mahal.
Also, those who have taken the first dose of covaxin in the age bracket of 18 to 44 years will be given the second dose at Government Medical College and Late Prabhakar Datke Municipal Corporation Diagnosis Center, Mahal. For this they have the option of online registration.
As per the new directive of the Central Government, the citizens who have taken the first dose of Covishield 12 weeks ago will be given the second dose. A second dose will also be given to the health workers and frontline workers. Also, all citizens above the age of 18 will be vaccinated at the Drive in Vaccination Center from 11 am to 4 pm.
