Good oral health is an important factor in people’s general health and quality of life. The evidence shows that people with disabilities have poorer oral health and more problems in accessing dental services than people in the general population.
With an objective to create the awareness among Parents &Care Givers of People with Disabilities and to mark Oral Health Care Month, Federation of Special Care Dentistry, a Global association of Health Care Professionals in association with CRC, Nagpur (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) organised a National Webinar on Good Oral Health Care Practices for People with Disabilities.
A unique Virtual Exhibition, “Sunshine Smile” of Smiling pictures of Specially Abled Children and Young Adults was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr.Suni Mathew, Director AYJNISHD, Mumbai.
Further Guest Speaker Dr.Sham Bhat,Vice Principal, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, Mangalore and a renowned Special Care Dentist spoke about various Good oral health care practices for People with Disabilities.
The event was moderated by Gayathri Vatsalya, Director, NGO Support,FSCD,while Kavita Ghodmare coordinated.
Large number of parents and care givers from all over the country participated and appreciated the efforts by FSCD&CRC.
Webinar was compered and anchored by Isha Verma, Nikhil Gokhale, Shaifali Kohad and Ankita Sur.
