The T-50 tiger brought to Gorewada Wildlife Rescue Centre in an injured condition from Buffer Zone of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve on May 2021, died in the wee hours of Monday.
As per the information recieved from the recsue centre the tiger was found unable to be paraplegic in hind limbs and in weak condition in compartment no. 187 of Agarzari Round of Moharli Range of Buffer Zone of TATR in the after noon at 4 pm on May 8, 2021.
A special watch was kept on this tiger by the field staff of TATR upto May 9, 2021.
The tiger was popular among wildlife buffs due to its sheer size and was named as ‘Khali’. The tiger weighed over 200 kg at the time of capture.
As there was no improvement in the health of the tiger, the tiger was tranquilised and shifted to Gorewada Wildlife and Rescue Centre the next day. However, the T-50 tiger died between 2 am to 3 am on Monday. The carcass of the tiger was cremated.
