Deepak Kapoor, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) Ltd, visited the ambitious Multimodal International Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) project on Thursday and took stock of the situation. He asked Patanjali to start production at its Mega Food Park by December this year. He also visited Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) facility and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) unit of Air India. Kapoor took a detailed review of development works of several prominent companies in MIHAN including Air India MRO, DRAL, Patanjali Mega Food Park, and Future Supply Chain.
He visited the Mega Food Park of Patanjali coming up in sprawling area of 232 acares of land. More than 12 lakh sq ft of industrial shed along with all the necessary machineries has already been installed two-three years ago.
The production was about to start but could not due to some problem. During interaction, Kapoor asked the officials of Patanjali to start production by December 2021 and assured them co-operation and support of MADC and Government. He said that Patanjali Mega Food Park was very important for Vidarbha region as it would generate huge employment for the youth and business opportunity for farmers.
During visit to DRAL facility, Arvind Kumar, Chief Executive Officer; Jeam Luc Robert, Chief Operating Officer; and David Raju welcomed Kapoor and briefed him about the entire production process of the commercial Aircraft Falcon-2000. DRAL facility is operational in more than 3 lakh sq ft area wherein assembly of Falcon-2000 is going on in full swing. DRAL plans to complete the production of the very first Falcon-2000 aircraft at MIHAN facility and fly it from Nagpur runway by December 2022.
According to MADC, more than 90 per cent of the total employees working in DRAL facility are from Vidarbha region. Kapoor informed DRAL officials that the occupancy certificate for existing hangar and approval for the design of two new hangars of 1.5 lakh sq ft each, was already given to DRAL.
Satya Veer Singh, General Manager, welcomed Kapoor at Air India MRO and showed him all the state-of-the-art MRO facilities of Air India at par with high level of International standards as per civil aviation norms. Later, Kapoor visited Future Supply Chain (FSC) where he was welcomed by Vipin Telgote, Zonal Human Resources Head of FSC. Kapoor saw all the advanced warehousing facilities at FSC including the automated sorting system and appreciated the same.
MADC to lease out 72 small industrial plots to MSMEs of Vidarbha During his visit to MIHAN area, Deepak Kapoor also had a meeting with office-bearers of Vidarbha Industries Association including Suresh Rathi, President, and Gaurav Sarda, Secretary. Kapoor informed them that MADC was coming up with 72 small industrial plots to be leased out to MSMEs of the region. It will provide an opportunity to the budding industrialists of the region. He also said that the order had already been given to MADC officials for repairing internal roads of MIHAN, to renovate the restrooms, repair the ceilings and exterior paint of Central Facility Building. Kapoor also interacted with owners and senior officers of a few prominent hotels of Nagpur regarding availability of 6.8 acres of land to be leased out for five-star hotel. He heard suggestions and expectations of the hoteliers and assured to take positive and suitable decisions for the same. Kapoor took stock of all development and maintenance works being carried out in MIHAN and directed MADC officials to speed up all the works. He asked them to put in efforts for increasing revenue for the project and attract more investors to MIHAN. He specifically directed them to be people-friendly and more accessible to industry representatives and resolve their grievances with speed.
