With the downward trajectory of Covid figures the Maharashtra Government has started relaxing covid norms in many part of the state. In a latest development regarding the RTPCR test, the government has exempted the fully vaccinated domestic as well as international passengers from possessing negative RTPCR test report while entering the State.
Sitaram Kunte, Chief Secretary, issued an order stating, “Persons who have been vaccinated with both doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 15 days have lapsed since the administration of second dose of the vaccine, and are in possession of the final vaccination certificate issued through CoWIN portal, be exempted from mandatory requirement of possessing a negative RTPCR report on their entry into the State.â€
As per the order, the exemption is applicable for domestic as well as International passengers.
However, despite this exemption order in place, all passengers irrespective of status of vaccination have been asked to ‘scrupulously follow’ COVID Appropriate Behaviour viz. wearing mask, frequently
sanitising hand, maintaining social distanting etc ‘at all times’.
Also, the interval of the validity of RTPCR test for all other persons has been extend-
ed from 48 hours to 72 hours.
