The cylinders were received by Radhakrishnan B, NMC Commissioner. Also present on the occasion were Tanaji Wanve, Leader of Opposition in NMC, Ram Joshi, Additional Commissioner, Sanjay Nipane, Additional Commissioner, Dr Sanjay Chilkar, Medical and Health Officer, Vijay Kolhe, Accounts and Audit Officer and Dr Tikesh Bisen.
During the second wave of novel coronavirus, shortage of oxygen cylinders was widely noticed due to which many patients lost thier lives.
The donation was made to make NMC self sufficient in oxygen supply ahead of the third wave.
Oxygen plant are set up at NMC’s K T Nagar and Pachpawali hospitals.
The supplied oxygen cylinders will be of great help during the third wave as predicted, expressed Dr Chilkar.
