Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has demanded that restrictions imposed due to Corona may be lifted now.
The situation in the state has eased. The positivity rate has decreased to a level, when the restrictions can be lifted. Most of the regions in the state are at Level-I.
Relaxation is necessary looking at the losses suffered by business community. For the last two years marriage halls could not get any booking, hotels and restaurants remained closed, shop owners were forced remain open for a limited time. Tourism in the state also suffered.
The business community has threatened to move the court against the lockdown imposed and extended by the State Government.
Even when the business community has assured that they would follow all Covid norms, they were not allowed to operate beyond a certain time limit.
Rallies and demonstrations are being organized by them in support of their demands. Even consumers’ organisations are supporting them.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope has assured to take decision in this connection in a couple of days. However, unless final order is issued they are not ready to belief in such assurances.
