The new relaxation has brought good news for Shops, restaurants and malls as they can now stay open till 10 pm.
The Maharashtra government on Wednesday made big announcement on further relaxations to Covid-19 curbs in the state.
With this new relaxation the state health minister Rajesh Tope has warned that if the need for medical oxygen per day reaches 700 metric tonnes at any point, a full lockdown will be re-imposed in Maharashtra.
Restaurants have been allowed to operate till 10 pm at 50 per cent seating capacity. The staff must be fully vaccinated and social distancing needs to be maintained in the seating arrangement.
All shops can stay open till 10 pm.
Shopping malls may also stay open till 10 pm, but only for those who are fully vaccinated.
A maximum of 200 people are now allowed at weddings that are held in the open. However, in enclosed halls, the number of people allowed for a wedding will be 50 per cent of the hall’s capacity.
Government offices may now function at full capacity.
Private offices can function in staggered shifts 24 hours a day.
Meanwhile the government has not given relaxation to cinemas, multiplexes, drama theatres and places of worship as these will remain close till further order.
A final decision is yet to be taken on reopening of schools in Maharashtra. A meeting will be held with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Covid task force to take a decision on this.
